Blakinger Thomas was founded in 1986 by the merger of two well-known Lancaster County law firms whose histories extend back decades with the business practice of Richard J. Blakinger, the municipal practice of Charles B. Grove, Jr., and the agrarian and land use practices of Samuel S. Wenger and M. Elvin Byler. Over the years, Blakinger Thomas evolved into a full-service law firm, representing generations of clients. Today, Blakinger Thomas continues to provide legal services for individuals, businesses, governmental bodies, and community organizations.
Our attorneys provide trusted legal counsel across three key practice areas: estate planning and administration, real estate law, and business law. We help individuals and families protect their legacies through comprehensive estate planning, guiding clients in drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, as well as assisting with the efficient administration of estates.
Our real estate practice handles both residential and commercial transactions, including purchases, sales, and leases, with a focus on protecting our clients’ investments. For entrepreneurs and business owners, we offer strategic advice on entity formation, contracts, compliance, and ongoing operations to support long-term success. Our goal is to provide each client with knowledgeable, responsive, and results-oriented representation tailored to their unique needs.
